The self-celebration of many family websites makes us smile; it does not move us. HERALDRY · SCARICAMAZZA 1723 is different: we prefer intellectual honesty to vain glory. We know that family stories, when told with rigour and originality, do not bore; on the contrary, they fascinate.
The damage of an earthquake, the fragility of Ianuarii Scaricamazza Palace (Castagneto, Teramo, Abruzzo, Central Italy) and the disappearance of an old shield have strengthened our conviction: the past must be told. We are an Italian family, a single tree composed of two branches*: the Scaricamazza of Castel Petto and the Ianuarii Scaricamazza of Castagneto.
It is a pleasure to share our history and heraldic knowledge.
